Are Budget Tyres Any Good?
Budget tyres have to meet the same legal standards as premium brands to be sold in the UK. The difference is usually in wet braking distance, road noise and how long the tread lasts. For a car doing average mileage around town, a budget option is often a sensible choice. If you drive long distances, tow, or drive a powerful car, a mid-range or premium brand is usually better value over its life.
Each one carries an EU label showing its fuel efficiency, wet grip and noise rating, so you can compare budget brands side by side.
